SL 578 GLS WIDE STANDARD BLK LH

Description

The Safariland 578 GLS Pro-Fit is built for left-handed shooters who want a single holster that works across a wide range of handguns without sacrificing retention or draw speed. Rather than fitting one specific pistol, the holster is engineered to accommodate an broad spectrum of firearms through an adjustable body, meaning you can move it between compatible guns without buying a new holster each time.

The retention mechanism is the GLS — Grip Lock System — which works differently from thumb-actuated or trigger-guard releases. When the pistol is seated, the GLS automatically locks it in place. To draw, you apply your middle finger to the release as you establish a natural shooting grip, so the retention breaks at the same moment you would be drawing anyway. There is no separate step, and no retraining of your draw stroke required. This makes it practical for both range use and everyday carry scenarios where speed and consistency matter.

The holster body is constructed from SafariSeven, Safariland’s proprietary nylon blend. The material is non-abrasive against a firearm’s finish, handles temperature extremes in both directions without becoming brittle or pliable, and does not require the maintenance that leather demands. The package includes both an injection-molded paddle and an injection-molded belt loop, giving you two mounting options. The belt loop is also adjustable to allow cross-draw positioning if your carry setup calls for it. The low-cut, compact profile keeps the holster from printing excessively under a cover garment while still leaving the grip accessible for a clean draw. The finish is SafariSeven Plain Black.
