Description
The Safariland MLS-15 Locking Fork is a mounting component designed for users who need to move a holster quickly between carry platforms without tools. It attaches to the back of any Safariland holster that uses the standard three-hole mounting pattern, and from there it can thread directly through MOLLE webbing on a vest, belt loop, or tactical leg shroud. The same fork also connects to the MLS-17 or MLS-18 Receiver Plates, which is where the system’s real utility shows up: once a receiver plate is fixed to your chosen platform, the holster drops onto it and locks, then releases with a deliberate motion rather than accidental contact.
The fork is injection-molded polymer and adjustable to several carry angles, so you can dial in the orientation that suits your draw without permanently committing to one position. The breakaway threshold is set at 140 pounds, a figure derived from military specifications, which means the connection is firm enough to hold under normal movement and physical stress but will release under a hard enough pull — a deliberate trade-off that prevents the holster from becoming a liability in a retention situation.
Because the fork is ambidextrous, it works equally on left- and right-hand holsters. If you already run Safariland holsters with the three-hole pattern, this is the piece that ties your existing gear into a modular, platform-agnostic carry system.
