Description
The Safariland 6354RDSO is built specifically for duty and tactical use with optics-equipped handguns — in this case, the Staccato P DUO with a 4.4-inch barrel. Where Safariland’s standard RDS-series holsters use a flip-up dust cover over the optic window, the RDSO drops that cover entirely in favor of an open-top pocket that shields the red dot without adding any extra step to the draw stroke. That distinction matters at speed: nothing needs to be folded out of the way before the gun clears leather.
Retention is handled by the ALS — Automatic Locking System — which mechanically captures the pistol the moment it seats fully in the holster. Releasing it requires only a straightforward thumb sweep across the ALS lever before the draw, which keeps the motion consistent and easy to train. There is no secondary SLS hood here, so this is a Level I setup: single-motion release, fast presentation, appropriate for environments where access speed outweighs the need for additional retention layers.
Construction uses Safariland’s SafariLaminate thermal-molded shell, which is formed directly around the firearm profile for a precise fit, with a Cordura exterior for durability and a suede lining inside to protect the pistol’s finish during holstering and storage. The holster ships with a QLS 19 Locking Fork already installed, which interfaces with any platform running a QLS 22 Receiver Plate — belt loops, leg shrouds, and similar mounts — allowing the holster body to be transferred between rigs without tools. The MultiCam pattern is integrated into the Cordura outer layer rather than applied as a coating.
