Description

The Safariland 7360RDS is a mid-ride duty holster built specifically for handguns carrying red dot optics — a detail that matters because standard holsters designed around iron-sight slide profiles will bind against or fail to properly seat a pistol with a mounted optic. The 7360RDS accommodates that added slide height without sacrificing retention geometry or draw clearance.

Retention comes from a stacked system: the ALS, or Automatic Locking System, engages the moment the pistol is seated, with release operated entirely by the thumb during the draw stroke. Layered above that is the SLS, or Self Locking System, which adds a rotating hood as a second retention barrier. Together they meet Level III retention without requiring the shooter to manipulate multiple independent releases in sequence — the draw motion itself accounts for both.

The holster body is molded from Safariland’s SafariSeven, a proprietary nylon-based material. Its relevance is practical: SafariSeven stays dimensionally stable across a wide temperature range and does not lose its shape if submerged, which matters in a duty context where a holster failure can be a safety failure. The interior surfaces are non-abrasive and incorporate raised standoffs that keep the slide slightly off the holster wall, letting moisture and debris clear without being trapped against the finish.

This variant is cut for the Glock 19 Gen 1 through 5 with a SureFire X300U weapon light, in plain black SafariSeven finish, configured for right-hand draw. The mid-ride belt loop positions the muzzle closer to the body than a full drop-leg platform, making it practical for both uniform carry and extended wear. Compatible with the full range of Safariland mounting hardware.
