Description
The Safariland 6354RDSO is built for duty and tactical carry on pistols running slide-mounted red dot optics — a configuration that creates fitment problems for holsters designed around iron-sight profiles. Rather than adapting an existing mold with a cutout, Safariland engineered the RDSO around an open optic pocket: the sight sits exposed and unobstructed, so there is no flip-up dust cover to clear on the draw. That design trades a small amount of environmental protection for meaningfully faster access, a deliberate choice for anyone whose priority is a clean, unimpeded presentation.
Retention is handled by the ALS — Automatic Locking System — which engages automatically the moment the Glock 19 MOS seats in the holster. The release is a single, indexed thumb motion that deactivates the lock and allows a straight-up draw. Because the release and the draw happen in the same fluid motion, ALS tends to feel faster under stress than a secondary retention hood, while still keeping the pistol positively locked during physical activity or a retention struggle.
The shell is constructed from SafariLaminate, a rigid thermal-molded material wrapped in Coyote Brown Cordura, with a suede interior to protect the pistol’s finish. Attached is a QLS 19 Locking Fork, which interfaces with any platform carrying a QLS 22 Receiver Plate — belt loops, leg shrouds, drop-offset adapters — allowing the holster body to be moved between mounting systems without tools. This holster is configured for right-hand draw and is fitted specifically for the Glock 19 MOS with an attached weapon light compatible with the SureFire X300 footprint.
