The core of this holster is Safariland’s Automatic Locking System, known as ALS. To release it, the shooter sweeps a thumb lever on the way to the draw stroke, so the motion integrates naturally with a trained grip. That single-motion release is meaningfully faster than rotating or pushing a hood while still providing active retention that resists a grab from any direction.
