SL SPECIES FOR GLK 48 BLK RH

Description

The Safariland Species is an inside-the-waistband holster built for concealed carry of the Glock 48, designed for right-hand draw. It is a straightforward choice for someone who wants a purpose-fit holster rather than a universal design, since the shell is molded specifically to the 48’s frame and slide geometry — which means consistent retention without relying on adjustable friction pads that can shift over time.

Safariland constructs the Species from SafariLaminate, a layered material that holds its shape under the heat and pressure of body carry better than soft fabric or single-layer nylon. That rigidity matters in practice: the holster mouth stays open after the draw, so reholstering can be done one-handed without collapsing the opening. For a carry holster worn daily, that detail reduces the handling required to get the gun back in the holster safely.

The IWB position keeps the firearm between the belt and the body, reducing printing compared to an outside-the-waistband setup at the cost of slightly slower access and a tighter fit against the body. The Species is finished in black, which is a practical choice for a holster that will be worn under clothing. Right-hand orientation positions the grip for a standard strong-side draw. This is a working holster aimed at the concealed-carry practitioner who wants fit and material quality without unnecessary complexity.
