Description
Sons of Liberty Gun Works built this buffer tube kit for AR-15 owners who need more stock length flexibility than a standard six-position mil-spec tube provides. Where a conventional tube gives you six positions across a modest range, this intermediate-length design adds four more, spreading the adjustment window wide enough to accommodate shooters of different builds, body armor configurations, and shooting positions without having to compromise between them.
The maritime design addresses a straightforward problem: water that enters a standard buffer tube has nowhere to go quickly, which can interfere with reliable cycling. Drain holes in the tube allow water to clear rapidly after submersion or heavy exposure, keeping the action functioning as intended rather than trapping fluid in the buffer system. This makes the tube a practical choice for wet-environment use, not just a cosmetic distinction.
The kit ships as a complete assembly. The 5.6-ounce buffer and matched power spring are tuned to work together, which matters because a mismatched buffer weight and spring rate can cause short-stroking or excessive bolt carrier velocity depending on the ammunition and gas port pressure of a given upper. Having both components specced as a system removes one variable from a new build or upgrade. The QD end plate adds a direct sling attachment point without requiring a separate adapter, and the castle nut rounds out the package so installation does not require sourcing additional hardware. The tube is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum with a hardcoat anodized finish, a material and treatment combination that holds up under sustained use and field conditions.
