The Sons of Liberty Gun Works Maritime Buffer Tube is built for AR-15 and M4 shooters who operate across a wide range of environments and body types — from the range to conditions where the rifle may be exposed to water. The intermediate, A5-style operating system it belongs to smooths out the recoil impulse compared to a standard carbine system by changing the timing of the bolt carrier group’s rearward travel, which translates to a softer, more controlled feel during rapid fire.

Where a standard mil-spec six-position tube gives you roughly one inch of total adjustment range, this tube’s ten positions open up a significantly wider span of length-of-pull. That matters practically when you’re shooting in body armor or a plate carrier, transitioning between positions, or simply accommodating different shooters on the same rifle. More stops also mean finer increments between positions, so you’re not forced to choose between too short and almost right.

The maritime drain holes are a functional detail rather than a cosmetic one. Without them, water trapped inside the tube can resist full stock compression or interfere with buffer travel. The drain holes let water clear quickly so the stock continues to seat and cycle correctly after immersion or heavy exposure. The tube is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and finished in hardcoat anodize, the same specification used on mil-spec components, which provides hard surface resistance to abrasion and corrosion without adding meaningful weight.
