Description
The Unity Tactical FAST Absolute Riser is built for shooters who run night vision, electronic ear protection, or communications headsets and need their optic positioned high enough to maintain a natural, heads-up posture without craning forward. The standard height on most direct-mount red dot setups forces the shooter to drop their head into the stock, which works fine in a clean range environment but becomes a problem the moment a helmet-mounted NVG or a bulky headset changes the geometry of how you index the gun. This riser addresses that by bringing the optical centerline to 2.26 inches, a height that allows passive aiming — the shooter looks through the optic rather than having to hunt for it — when wearing full kit.
The platform itself is a 3.5-inch Picatinny section machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and finished in Type III hardcoat anodizing, which is the same specification used in mil-spec hard armor applications and resists wear and corrosion better than standard Type II. Attachment to the host rail uses a rail grabber clamp, and the mount is compatible with both the FAST QD Lever and the FAST QD Lever produced by ADM, so you have options for how you manage tool-free removal. The riser accepts any optic you can mount to a Picatinny rail, but it is specifically optimized for absolute co-witness height optics — meaning optics like the EOTech XPS or Leupold LCO that are already designed to co-witness with standard AR iron sights will, once elevated by this riser, sit above those irons entirely. That trade-off is worth understanding before you buy: you gain a better heads-up position, but you give up the co-witness relationship with your existing fixed sights. At 2.8 ounces, the weight addition is minimal.
