Description
The YHM-9680 is a folding rear iron sight built for AR-platform rifles where rail space matters and a low-profile backup option is the priority. It mounts directly to any Picatinny rail and locks positively into the deployed position, so there is no ambiguity about whether the sight is up and ready when you need it. A quick-release thumb screw lets you stow it without tools and without disrupting the rest of your setup.
Construction pairs a steel base with an aluminum stem — steel where the mounting stresses concentrate, aluminum where it saves weight without sacrificing rigidity. The result is a sight that weighs just over two and a half ounces, which matters when the goal is to keep a topped-out rail from becoming a liability on a working rifle. The folded height of 0.840 inches keeps it well clear of any optic sitting on the same rail.
The aperture is a standard peep design, which presents a familiar sight picture to anyone trained on military-pattern rifles. Windage and elevation adjustments are made in half-MOA increments, giving you enough precision to dial the sight in for a specific zero rather than settling for a rough holdover. The sight is designed to co-witness with the standard M16/M4-pattern front sight, so your front and rear references align at the same optical plane without shimming or rail riser work. Standard replacement peeps fit the aperture housing, so you are not locked into a proprietary part if you want to swap aperture size. Made in the United States.
