Description
Running a same-plane front sight on a YHM railed gas block presents a height problem: the rail on the gas block sits lower than a standard front sight base, so a conventional sight will index too low relative to the rear. The Gas Block Riser solves that by adding a precisely machined platform between the gas block rail and the sight, bringing the front sight up to the same optical plane as the rear and letting the two work together as they should.
The riser is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished in a hard-coat anodize, which keeps weight minimal while providing the surface hardness needed to hold up under repeated use and handling. At just over an ounce, it adds nothing meaningful to the overall weight of the build. The 2.0-inch length gives the sight a stable, fully supported footprint rather than a narrow contact patch that could allow cant under recoil.
This part is designed specifically for use with YHM’s Q.D.S. same-plane sight system and YHM railed gas blocks. If you are running that combination and finding that co-witnessing or same-plane alignment is off, this is the purpose-built correction rather than a workaround. It is manufactured in the United States.
